Wildlife Adventures

On the trail we will be keeping a record of the wildlife we spot; inducing mammals, birds and plants.

Blue and Grey Whales in Baja, Mexico

screen-shot-2016-11-13-at-11-13-59Pacific gray whales return to their traditional breeding and birthing grounds in sheltered lagoons on Mexico’s Baja Peninsula each year. Blue whales also winter in the Baja coastal area.

We hope to spot some of these before we start our PCT trail in April 2017.

Gray Wolves in Yellowstone

We are going to take a break from the walk and spend a few days searching for wolves, bison, elk, trumper swans and Yogi bear in Yellowstone. The last wolves were killed in Yellowstone in 1926. bisonBut after re-introductions in the 1990’s, figures from the park show that there were at least 104 wolves in Yellowstone in 2015.

Orca’s on Vancouver Island

We hope  to see and kayak around killer whales and maybe watch bald eagles catch a salmon for  few days before returning home in Late September 2017.
